Sunday June 10 to Saturday 16 2018
Enjoy a full weeks course in North Devon. Set near the Exmoor National Park in rolling coutryside.
Sandy and Mark will offer you a warm welcome at Shorland Old Farm, 0n my arrival I was offered a cream tea!.
The very comforagble ensutie accommodation is set in an old Faarmhouse cotage, with parts dating back to 16th century. Sandy's a supurb cook and we have a barn convestion for our studio.
There plenty to do in the garden, depending on weather we will travel to a couple of beauty spots nearby. This year we went to Lorna Doon Farm and Lynmouth.
Arrival is between 5-7pm on the first day, with time to settle in before gathering for a complimentary drink before dinner - a chance to meet fellow guests and the tutor leading the course.
The studio is a spacious converted barn, with ample room for everyone to work comfortably. There are also fourteen acres of rolling pasture, ancient beech trees, ponds, streams and an old wooded quarry in which to draw and paint. Some tutors allow for a half day or a whole day for you to do whatever you choose. Carry on with a piece of work here, simply relax in the house or the grounds, or take a trip out and explore some of the wonderful countryside and places of interest round and about.
The price of your holiday includes tuition, accommodation and use of the studio, a full English breakfast every day, and a three course evening meal, followed by coffee in the lounge. On the days you are working here, light lunches are provided. On location, we leave you to organise your own midday refreshment. Tea and coffee making facilities are available in every bedroom and in the studio. Sandy does all the cooking and does her best to cater for special dietary requirements, but she does need to know about them in advance!
We’re not licensed to sell alcohol, but you are very welcome to bring your own drinks.
